About Me
I grew up in a city called Mississauga, which is fairly close to Toronto and have spent most of my life here. Life has been quite a ride up and down the roller coaster, with twists and turns down the tracks, but I have always taken an open and insightful outlook on which ways to lean to be able to enjoy the ride better. I feel it's because of my self taught nature; being an only child in the family has allowed me to be open with the world and analyze all my surroundings. This self determination has allowed me to teach myself all the elements required in my field work. Don't get me wrong, you can only learn so much by yourself, and along this journey I have also learnt many important lessons from past co-workers, friends and family. Website design and development have been my passion ever since I can remember. All my work experience for the past 6 years has been related to website design and development. I first started this journey in the web world when I created a website where a group of friends online could come and talk about their experiences with video games which we were playing at the time. The date was 1998, right before Y2K and the big web boom. The website was designed and coded in flat borderline HTML with tables. A website that should not exist in todays standards, but we all had to start somewhere. Thankfully in todays web world we have more stricter standards that all (well most of us) website designers and developers try and live by. Even with these standards, the flow from design to development is not always a smooth path. I feel having experience in both the designing and programming aspects ensures that this binded relationship converges correctly, to support these web standards. Web pages should be user friendly, appealing and efficient. I like to focus on new and innovative ways to push the user interface experience.
My goals in the industry is to follow the evolution of the web and always try and keep one step ahead of the game. My dream is to hopefully get into the gaming industry via my web development and design skills sometime in the near future.

Hello, my name is Jason Maggiacomo. I am a Website Developer by day, and a casual gamer by night.
One can only work so much without over doing themselves. In my spare time I am usually playing video games or following what is going on in the industry. I've been interested in video games since a young age, when my Atari 2600 was the latest console on the market at the current time. I wasn't totally focused on the console world of gaming as I was able to get my hands on my first computer during the same time frame. It was an Intel 286 and it allowed me to jump into the world of gaming on the PC. It is amazing how far we have come since then, from playing games in a 2D perspective to playing games that feel life like. I have to admit I am more of a PC gamer now then a console junkie, but I like to follow what is going on in each platform. I am looking forward to where gaming will take us in the future, and therefore most of my blog postings will be related to this topic.
